How You’ll Show Your Skills!
In Information Technology, just like other subjects, we have a way of checking how awesome you’re becoming! It’s called Assessment, and it’s not as tricky as it sounds.
For Vocational Information Technology:
- 30% school-based assessment (SBA)
- 30% portfolio
- 40% controlled assessment (written exam) in Year 11
- By the end of the three years, you will obtain a SEC Ordinary Level certification.
- This is recognised in all post-secondary institutions including MCAST and Junior College.
For Applied Information Technology:
- A number of assessment tasks, mainly based on practical tasks carried out in class.
- Each year one of the assessments will be issued centrally by DQSE.
- Marks obtained over the three years, will amount to the final Applied Vocational Certificate (AVC) result.
- This is recognised in post-secondary institutions such as MCAST.
