DTLC within the Science Centre and DLAP, organises the National D&T Expo to promote innovative and entrepreneurial student D&T (Design and Technology) projects from all schools in Malta and Gozo. D&T Expo has run as part of MRO (Malta Robotics Olympiad) for five consecutive years and on stand-alone basis. In all its editions, the Expo celebrated students’ projects in D&T and awarded excellence through the nomination of it’s ‘Best Projects Awards’ in different categories. Both participating and winning students and schools achieved exposure and token awards that encourage them to keep pushing higher their innovative minds and efforts.

Within the D&T Expo, an open-to-public robotics competition has been introduced, namely the DIY-Bots challenge, where various categories compete with self- designed and built ‘DIY- Bots’ in both static and track like races, challenges and endeavours.

The D&T Expo is set to return in 2022-23 with its unique take on Design and Technology student project exhibition, knowledge sharing and competitions. Next year D&T Expo is all set to launch the return of this inspiring chain of events.
