GO4Industry
Teacher Internship Programme

The GO4Industry Teacher Internship Programme provided teachers an opportunity to upgrade their knowledge, skills and competences in STEM and in turn improved the teaching and learning of those subjects. The internship also aimed to help teachers integrate 21st century skills and competences into their teaching – thus providing students insights into skills necessary at the workplace. During the GO4Industry Teacher Internship Programme:

  • Teacher interns spent a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 50 hours in the industry/company during the summer months (mid July – mid September).
  • A mentor was assigned to the teacher – the mentor monitored and maintained a connection with the teacher interns throughout the placement and facilitated the transition to the workplace and answered any questions related to daily activities.
