The Directorate for STEM and VET Programmes (DSVP) is committed to delivering quality STEM and VET learning experiences for all, raising the profile of these fields within the community, and fostering studies in these areas. The vision is built on four pillars:
- Curriculum Transformation
- STEM & VET Educator Support and Professional Development
- STEM Popularisation
- Policy Making
Among its responsibilities, DSVP provides expert guidance on curriculum development, identifies enablers and barriers to STEM and VET learning and assessment programmes, and collaborates with various stakeholders on curriculum innovation, learning and assessment programmes, specialised programmes, and teacher training. Furthermore, DSVP oversees the implementation of the National Implementation Plan in alignment with the Osnabruck Declaration 2020.
As a change leader, DSVP builds leadership capacity among educators and promotes best practices in teaching, learning, and assessing within the fields of STEM and VET. To ensure quality, DSVP stays updated with international pedagogical and technological developments, informing and advising policy and practice in STEM and VET. Accordingly, DSVP develops, implements, and evaluates national learning and assessment programmes for all year groups from pre-primary to secondary education.
